Aquatic Weed & Herbicide Application
The Naches-Selah Irrigation District will be applying aquatic weed herbicides to its irrigation canals and laterals between April 1, 2024, and October 31, 2024, in accordance with Washington Department of Ecology pesticide laws, rules and general permit. The purpose of the herbicide applications is to control aquatic weeds within the irrigation delivery system. The herbicides in use include copper sulphate. (Pesticide EPA label and WSDA are also followed as applicable.) Treatments will be made to the irrigation facilities within the boundaries of the Naches-Selah Irrigation District located in Yakima County. Applications are generally made every two weeks starting in May ending in October as needed. Weather and other conditions determine the application schedule on an as needed basis. Waters within the District are intended for agricultural purposes only and are not for human consumption or primary contact such as swimming or aquaculture. Irrigation facilities can be dangerous, and are intended for District operation and maintenance personnel only. District facilities are not for public use and are not to be trespassed upon. Herbicides will be applied under the direction of licensed District personnel.

Notice of Board Equalization Meeting
NOTICE is hereby given that the 2024 Regular Assessment Roll of the Naches-Selah Irrigation District has been completed and presented to the Board of Directors of said District, as required by law. The Board of Directors, acting as a Board of Equalization will meet on December 8, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. at the District Office located at 104 W. Naches Ave., Suite H, in Selah. They will continue in session as long as necessary not to exceed ten days, to hear and determine objections, if any, to the extension of said Assessment Roll. The Board of Directors may elect to change said extension as to appear to them just and equitable.
IN THE MEANTIME, the Assessment Roll will remain in the District office for inspection by any interested water users of said District.

Board of Directors Position No. 2 Opening
Position No. 2 for Board of Directors of the Naches-Selah Irrigation District opens October 10 to qualified electors. A Declaration of Candidacy and Petition of Nomination form may be obtained at the District office at 104 W. Naches Ave. #H, Selah, WA. The Declaration and Petition must be completed and returned by November 6, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
